"Every time I try to get out...they pull me back in..."
That's the response I got from Tony Berwald when I asked him what on earth would possess him to bring the NGAR out of mothballs.
Really, this was inevitable. Tony never lost his desire to produce the race...rather two kids, a little burnout and the chance handle course design for the 2007 and 2008 editions of the Checkpoint Zero Adventure Race gave him a hard-to-resist opportunity to take a break without walking away entirely.
The 2010 edition of this favorite, frigid, Georgian suffer-fest is set for January 16th in Ellijay, GA. Coed and same sex teams of 3 will bike, paddle and trek 90+ miles while navigating by map and compass. Registration will open July 1st and the entry fee is $345 per team.
The 2010 North Georgia Adventure Race will be part of the 2010 Checkpoint Tracker Adventure Racing Series presented by Inov-8.
